START YOUR JOURNEY
Step 1: Attend an Info Session
Info sessions take place every Wednesday. RESERVATION IS REQUIRED. Please call us today at (877) 362-4771 to reserve your spot.
Step 2: Application Paperwork
After the info session, you’ll be invited to fill out an application form and provide us with the documents needed for the next steps. Documents required include:
- Photo ID.
- Current Resume.
- Detailed Academic Report.
- Proof of Address.
Dependent on the Trade Winds branch, you may be referred to an Indigenous Employment Center to complete a service needs determination before moving on to the next step.
Step 3: Skillplan Examination
Once your paperwork is in order, we’ll contact you to schedule a time to write your Skillplan test. Expect to write at 9am or 1pm most weekdays.
If you find yourself unable to pass the Skillplan, we have additional resources available to catch you up to speed. No one gets left behind!
Step 4: Program Interview
Should your Skillplan results meet our minimum standards, you’ll be invited back for an interview. The interview will assess your Readiness, your Willingness, and your Ability to complete the program. Being Ready, Willing, and Able is the single most important part of moving forward with Trade Winds.
Step 5: Acceptance and Admittance
Congratulations! Following a successful interview, you’ll be provided with a letter of acceptance that you can provide to a potential funder to complete the application process. Once we’ve received confirmation from the funder, you’re in! See you in class!
Living allowance requirements and potential funders are covered during our information session. Our partnerships make the process very easy, so you don’t have to worry.
