Application Process

Prospective clients must attend an information session as the first step in the application process. Info sessions are held every Wednesday at 10 am. Please contact us to reserve your spot in one of these sessions.

At the info session, you will fill out application forms and learn about the program and its requirements. Photo identification, proof of housing, a resume, and unofficial high school transcripts (also called detailed academic report in Alberta) are required for your file.

Dependent on the Trade Winds branch, you may be referred to an Indigenous Employment Center to complete a service needs determination before moving onto the assessment stage.

Assessment

Applicants must write a math and reading assessment (called the SkillPlan test). Once you have passed the SkillPlan test, you will be asked to come in for an intake interview.

Acceptance and Funding

Upon successful completion of the intake interview, you will be given an acceptance letter. You must then bring the letter to a funder to apply for living allowance for the duration of the program.
