“The best decision I ever made.”
Justin Halcrow grew up in gang violence, where things were very dark for him at a young age. After serving time in the Drumheller Penitentiary, Justin knew it was time for a change.
“I was sick of trying to figure out what to do with my life,” he says. “Drug dealing just wasn’t it for me anymore. Drugs and money come quick – and so does the pain.”
Justin started looking for jobs and scrolling through opportunities on social media. That’s when he came across Trade Winds to Success. He wrote the entrance exam and was accepted.
“The best decision I ever made in my life was following through with this program,” says Justin.
“Trade Winds has done a lot for me. A lot of people told me I couldn’t make it. But once you kick that door open, you make those grades to get where you are. That’s the biggest thing that’s going to make you feel better about yourself.”
Justin is now working in the millwright trade. He encourages others considering a trade to look at Trade Winds.
“Whatever you do, you’ve got a choice to make. And that’s going to define you as a person in this trade.”
